Today’s run was supposed to look like this: walk 1 mile, run 3 min, walk 2 min (repeat 5 min sequence 10 times), walk 5 min. For me, these short intervals get really boring. It is still hard for me to run in long intervals and I am definitely working on my endurance but still, 3 min, 2 min, 3 min, 2 min — something about that is just so “blech”
I decided to run mine in a pyramid and my run ended up looking like this:

I decided to get that last little upward “fling” in an effort to finish balls to the wall (ß watch that!) Okay, so maybe a 5 min interval at a 7.0 isn’t “balls to the wall” for you – but it was an extra effort and push for me.
At any rate, I finished strong and I felt great. 5.5 miles in 62 min.
