Sunday Run

Today we put our run in a little earlier than usual. Typically, we are running at night but about a half hour after I woke up this morning, Nick asked if I wanted to go runnning and get it out of the way. I figured now is just a good a time as any and off we went.

The scheduled run for today was to walk 1 mile, run five min, walk 2 min, repeat the 7 min sequence five times, walk 5 min.

My run ended up looking like this, and I decided to forego that last 5 min walking break because my tummy was grumbling and I was ready for some breakfast.

I ended with 4.2 miles in 50 min flat.

I decided to run in my cross trainers for this run just to see how my running shoes were different. The trainers were pretty good – although I don’t think I could run much further than this and still feel comfortable in them. It was however, kind of nice giving my feet a sort of “break” from the same shoes.

Post run, we enjoyed Chobani pancakes and Chobani protein smoothies. Nick actually whipped up this breakfast while I was in the shower. Such a good guy :)

And I have to admit, it feels good having my run done and the whole day ahead of me – thanks Nick!

Today is the NYC Marathon and I’ve been following along via twitter. Hearing all those success stories was so inspiring. I’m training for “just” a 5k – be we’ve all got milestones we’re working towards. What’s yours??
