So far, we have prepped our stuffing.

Next, make your pie crust dough. I made Grandma’s Pie Crust but changed it up just a little. The end result looked like this:

Oatmeal Pie Crust

Prep Time: 10 min. Cook Time: varies with pie recipe. Serves: will make 4 pie crusts (bottom crust only)

Ingredients:
4 Cup Flour
1 Tbsp Sugar
1/4 Cup Dried Oats (like Quaker Oatmeal Oats…)
2 tsp salt
1 3/4 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Water
1 Large Egg
1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Method:
Using a fork, stir together the flour, sugar, oatmeal and salt in a small bowl.
Cut in the shortening until crumbly.
In a small bowl beat together the water, egg, vinegar and vanilla.
Add this liquid mixture into the flour and mix together until it turns to dough :)
Make 4 separate balls of dough and wrap in saran wrap. Freeze until ready to use. If using right away, you will want to refridgerate for at least 15 min before rolling out the dough.
