It’s Pumpkin Season

It’s pumpkin season! My favorite time of year. Favorite because I love adding pumpkin to my oatmeal or buckwheat, love pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks, love fall decor on my front porch, love the chill in the air morning and night. I love fall and I love pumpkin.

For this week’s CSA recipe cards Pete asked me to put together something using French Heirloom Pumpkins. Back in Washington, French Heirlooms are sold as Cinderella Pumpkins and I had no idea that people actually ate them – I’ve only ever put them on my door step because they are absolutely gorgeous.

As it turns out, the French Heirlooms are stunning once you cut into them. They have an incredible smell and color.

I had fun putting together two recipes for the CSA members and of course, the recipes center around pumpkin and the other produce they’d be receiving in their box. No worries if you’re not a member – I get to share the recipes here too! And, I’m sure you’ll be able to find everything you need at your local produce supplier.
